Dead Sea and Masada

We depart early from your hotel and drive down to the lowest point on earth, the Dead Sea.  There we will see breathtaking canyons , sit upright while floating in the therapeutic salt water.  We ascend Masada by cable car to see King Herod's palaces and hear the story of the Jewish last stand against the Romans in the year 73.  For the more daring, a one hour hike up Og canyon.

Christian Quarter

In the afternoon, we return to Jerusalem.  We enter the Old city at Jaffa Gate near the iconic David's Citadel, Walk through the Arab market, grab a Turkish coffee in the Christian quarter and make our way to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the traditional location of Jesus' crucifixion and burial.  

Jewish Quarter and City of David

On to the Jewish Quarter where we will overlook the Temple Mount (or Haram el Sharif) where the Jewish Temple stood with its iconic golden Dome of the Rock and Al Aksa mosque.  Descend to the Western Wall to touch the wall and see Jews praying as they have at this location for millennium.  Moving on to David's City to visit the Jerusalem of King David and Solomon.  

Mount of Olives

From the City of David we walk to the Kidron Valley (of the Valley of Josaphat) to see the Mount of Olives from where, by Jewish and Christian tradition to Messiah will arrive.  See the Garden of Gethsemane with its nearby picturesque churches and ancient Jewish cemetery.
