9:00 AM Drive to Jerash – Head south along the east bank of the Jordan river. Turn East to climb the Gilead hills, pass ancient Pella and enjoy the surprisingly lush green landscape of Oaks, Carab, Olive and mediterranean bush.
10:30 AM Tour ancient Jerash’s grand temples, musical theaters, arches, Nymphae, Tetrapylon and colonnaded streets. Hear stories of the relationship between the Jews of Gerasa and their pagan neighbors.
We will grab lunch before leaving.
1:30 PM Drive to Um Qais – Pass by Irbid, Jordan’s 3rd largest city.
3:00 PM Um Qais – Ancient Gadara, plaid a pivotal role in the Great Jewish revolt against the Romans. See the sun set over the Galilee hills from across the Jordan valley. May be cancelled if we run late.
4:00 PM Drive to Border Crossing via Jordans Wadi Araba hydro project.
4:45 PM Cross to Israel side
5:45 PM Stop for dinner in Beit Shean
6:45 PM Drive to Netanya
8:15 PM Drive to Raanana
8:45 PM Arrive in Raanana
